At Kiteroa Kennels, we are proud to strive for the advancement of the Golden Retriever breed. This means that we will do all we can to produce sound and healthy puppies, that are an excellent example of the breed.
We are an ANKC registered breeder with Dogs NSW (member #2100057394)
A beautiful, confident and happy temperament is of utmost importance to us, so that our Golden Retrievers can adjust to their surroundings, and be the beautiful, happy dog that the breed is so well known for.
We carry out extensive health testing on our breeding dogs to ensure the best possible chance of all puppies living a healthy long life with their forever families.
The testing that we carry out includes:
  • Hip x-ray and scoring using the CHEDS system
  • Elbow x-ray and scoring using the CHEDS system

  • Heart ausculation by a vet
  • Full Breed ORIVET breed DNA panel of tests, including (but not limited to)

This program produces amazingly resilient, confident, enrichment seeking puppies who develop into well rounded, outgoing, operant adults that are happy, socially successful, and trainable dogs. Puppy Culture represents a gold standard in puppy rearing and early socialisation.
Once the puppies begin to walk around and play with each other, then we utilise Puppy Culture and Avidog protocols to give our puppies the best possible start to life.
We start our puppies off at 3days old with ENS or early Neurological Stimulation as per Puppy Culture protocols and continue until 17 days old

The Adventure Box
We are always searching for fun and easy ways to develop our pups’ stability. Our Adventure Box has quickly become a favourite, particularly for early stimulation. An Adventure Box is a wonderful way to introduce baby puppies to the sights, sounds, touch and motion they will experience during their lives. Experiences like the Adventure Box may grow the size and complexity of puppies’ brains, helping them to become more confident.

Another great enrichment idea is a “bottle Tub”. Puppies can play in a tub of loud crackly bottles and plastic containers

And the tunnel is always a great fun

By 6 weeks puppies go on “adventure walks” around our property. They experience all different kinds of surfaces like concrete, gravel, loud corrugated iron sheets, up and down embankments. They also learn recall and to follow closely to people.
